Alternative Alteration: Adapt a Thrifted Tee to Fit or just Look Really Cool

Instructor: Sarah Abram

Availability: In stock

In this class we will use the skills we have in our toolbox and our own creativity to alter a thrifted tee, using knitting, and/or crochet. We start with a shirt that has plenty of positive ease, make a sketch of what we want to do to it, and with a predetermined swatch, prep the shirt to pierce with holes to pick up stitches. Then we’ll go over formulas of decreases and increases to create shapes and effects for the filled-in part of the tee. These fillers can be yokes, side segments, sleeve decorations, edges, or waist-shaping–your personal creativity and taste will be your guide, and hopefully we will inspire one another!
