Hat Crowns 101

Hats don’t have to be basic; the crown sets the foundation for the style and shape! In this intermediate class, you will learn and reinforce techniques that will take your hats to the next level. You’ll make several crowns which will give you a ‘head’ start on your gift-giving or charity projects!

  • 200 yds in four different smooth, light-colored worsted weight yarns
  • H8/5.00 or I9/5.50 mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Locking stitch markers
  • Scissors
  • Tape measure
  • Paper/pen/pencil for notes.


Must be able to read written crochet patterns / instructions based on US terminology, as well as identify and execute basic crochet stitches (slip knot, ch, dc) and techniques (magic ring).
