Socks are popular knits for all the obvious reasons: takes one skein of yarn, small project, a (relatively) quick knit and the perfect size to carry around and knit on the go. Knitting socks is also practical; socks keep your feet warm. A well fitted hand-knit sock is sublime. Once you experience the perfectly fitted sock: slides over your foot, fitting like a second skin, but soft and warm, you will never wear commercially sized socks again. How do you obtain the perfectly fitted sock? Simple, know what to measure, where to measure and how to use the measurements. Students will learn how to use measurements to alter any sock pattern for better fit and to create their own sock pattern for their own feet.
