Party in the Lounges!
One of the best things about fiber festivals is hanging out with friends. There’s the friends you came with, your gang, your crew, your craft or die, your “don’t let me buy this (aka please enable me, just help me find room in my stash)” … and those folks you know will tell you without hesitation “no, that is not your color.”
Then there’s the new friends you made, standing in line waiting for the doors to open, or in a class, or when you both pounced on the same skein of yarn and then the vendor found a second skein so no blood was shed.
We love fiber company, and Fiberworld brings you and your friends together in our virtual lounges to share your stash, spill the tea and PARTY.
Oh, yes. Come to the lounges at Fiberworld for all the virtual sociability you can take, from the comfort of your chair, with a project in your lap!
We’ve got games. We’ve got a pajama parties specifically for those pajamas (prizes for the best one!). We’ve got actual tea parties for that tea you’re planning to spill. We’ve got events from our sponsors, and surprise visits from fiber royalty. Keep an eye on the schedule, and be where the fun is, all festival long.
Book Readings & Signings
In the interest of supporting authors and designers, Fiberworld is offering more readings and book signing events into our lounges. Enjoy listening to authors reading, discussing, and/or showing off their work, followed by question and answer time and book or placard signing.
Andrea will be signing Portuguese Style of Knitting – History, Traditions and Techniques. This book contains the history and the manual to learn and practice the Portuguese Knitting. Easy-to-follow instructions and clear illustrations allow beginners or more experienced knitter to recreate inspired Portuguese Patterns. You can make these pieces as they are shown, or use other colours to create your own unique and original gifts.
Some of the most raucous (and fondly remembered) times of the 2020 shows happened during the MANY door prize giveaways. We are moving many of these to the lounges this year where all the “Form, Function, Randomizer” fun has less of a chance of throwing off the schedule on the stages.
Scavenger hunt prize winners will be announced. You do not need to be present in the lounge on Sunday to win. Each qr code scanned for the scavenger hunt from each vendor on each day is a chance to win. The winners will be drawn from all entries and be eligible for a prize from any of the vendors.
